For Surrogates

Surrogacy Process

The surrogacy process is a rewarding and life-changing journey, and at Bamboo Surrogacy, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. As a surrogate mother, you’ll be supported with compassion, care, and expert guidance throughout the entire process, from initial application to delivery. We ensure that you have all the information and resources you need to make this experience fulfilling and impactful, helping create a family while making a lasting difference in someone’s life.

Surrogacy Process

Matching and Meeting

Once you submit your application, we’ll start to match you with Intended Parents. We will schedule an initial zoom interview between you and the intended parents to let both parties know more about each other in order to determine if you are both a good fit for each other. If both parties agree, we proceed with medical and psychological evaluations to ensure you’re ready for the surrogacy journey.

Medical and Psychological Evaluation

The medical screening includes 3 parts: The Intended Parents’ IVF doctor will review your medical records and do a 30 minute initial consultation with you (usually via zoom); you will then be asked to go to the lab draw station to complete your initial lab work (this includes the prenatal panel, infectious disease, drugs and nicotine panel); lastly, you will have an in person visit at IVF doctor’s office during your cycle day 6 – day 13 to complete an ultrasound.

Legal Procedures

Once we obtain the medical clearance, legal procedures begin. A surrogacy attorney will guide you through the contract process, covering essential topics such as embryo transfer, compensation, and confidentiality. After the contracts are signed and notarized, you’ll begin the necessary medications as prescribed by your IVF doctor.

Pregnancy and Birth

Once the embryo transfer occurs, hormone treatments will help prepare your body for pregnancy. Regular check-ups will take place at both the IVF clinic and your own doctor’s office. Throughout the pregnancy, you’ll have the opportunity to celebrate important milestones with the intended parents.

Establishing Legal Parent-Child Relationship

Once a successful pregnancy is established, the legal parent-child relationship will be formalized between 16 and 18 weeks of gestation. Our team, along with a reproductive law attorney, will guide you through this process to ensure a smooth legal transition. We offer additional support through the attorney of your choice to ensure your rights and interests are protected.
